Tayvallich

From the Lake District to the west coast of Scotland, with a quick stop at Ulswater and Aira Force waterfall en route. We spent three nights at lovely Taynish House - thank you the Hoggs! No wifi, telephone or 4G meant peaceful evenings spent in front of the fire playing Scrabble and reading books.

Saturday (7th October) morning we waited for the rain to cease, and headed out on a long walk from Carsaig to Crinan, with lovely views across to Jura.

We stumbled across the ruins of Arichonan village, and then resorted to hitchhiking to speed up our return journey!

Sunday 8th October
We picked a lucky gap in the weather, and had an idyllic two hours kayaking on Loch Sween. A seal popped up by Jess's kayak and you could see starfish and sea urchins through the crystal-clear waters.
